The Hidden Vitamin U.🥦🦃

Hello there!👋

This is the Spira Farms newsletter. Where we talk about the foods that will help balance the overwhelming amount of candy we just consumed.

Today we are going to talk about:

  • Vitamin U

Vitamin U 😵‍💫

Yes this is a real thing.

Let’s start right at the beginning, this is a real vitamin but its mostly a nickname. Much easier to say Vitamin U then methionine. The real name might make you think I am cooking meth. I can barely cook cereal. 🥣

There is research to suggest that vitamin U greatly aids in gut health. In the 1950’s studies found that drinking cabbage juice helped heal ulcers, healing people in 7 days compared to the 42 days at the time. 🥬

Cabbage is rich in vitamin C, and antioxidants 🤑. Those anti-oxidants are great at fighting off H.Pylori, a bacteria that LIVES in your stomach with all of that acid we use to digest food. Guess who had H.Pylori? This guy 😅

About 6-7 years ago I was diagnosed with H.Pylori. I was having terrible digestive issues (some I still carry to this day) and went to the doctor to get this diagnosis. I went through many rounds of anti-biotics to knock this stuff out of me. That worsened my gut health, suddenly I was having many IBS symptoms and eating regular foods like onion and garlic became…. Unpleasant ⛽ and painful⛽⛽

It took many years to cure myself of these problems but I still live with a few problems from time to time. What did I do to cure myself? I changed my diet.

There are many plants that help here, but the most important one is our Red Acre Cabbage. It’s LOADED with vitamins and minerals but most importantly to me Vitamin U. It helps relieve inflammatory issues, and helps delete H.Pylori from our systems. 🕵️

Now I mentioned before that cabbage juice was discovered to solve these problems. I do not myself consume cabbage juice, however I do add Red Acre Cabbage to my smoothies and in fact have added a pound into a smoothie once (Is that technically cabbage juice?). Microgreen cabbage is so mild you don’t even know its in there. 🍍🍌🍑

Eating plants was sorely missed in my diet most of my life. They can be a remedy for so many problems. I unfortunately did not care about this until those problems came to me.
