Hello there !👋
This is the Spira Farms newsletter. Since were all floating through space on a rock were basically astronauts. This means microgreens are astronaut food. 🧑🚀
This is a special edition of the newsletter, here to tell you all about how the Spira Farms food of the future works.
Today we are going to talk about 👇
- What the heck are microgreens?
- What delivery is like?
- Can I change my products?
- Can I pause a subscription if I am going on vacation?
- Special information about the containers
We started our farm to solve our nutrition problems. We have cancer in the family, and wanted to do everything we could to ensure we were getting what we needed to improve our chances in this fight.
Microgreens are apart of our toolkits we use to get the nutrition and anti-inflammatories we need.
MICROGREENS. ARE. WILD. 🌱
1. Up to 40x more nutritious than the adult plants
This means if you eat 1oz of microgreens its like eating 3-6 POUNDS of the adult plant. 🤯
2. Way easier to grow and eat them here locally! 🚚
This matters because it’s taking 6+ days for food to get here from out of state. Broccoli losses 30-50% of its vitamin C and 40-80% of its anti-inflammatories in 3-5 days. FRESH FOOD MATTERS
3. Eating RAW foods matters. 🥬🥦
I’m definitely not suggesting eating broccoli florets raw that can be rough. BUT you should always eat microgreens raw because any heat applied to plants kills them. Especially the most important anti-inflammatories.
What is Delivery Like?🚛
Spira Farms handles all of its deliveries weekly. Which means 👇
1. We are harvesting your greens the day we deliver
2. We are delivering your greens the same day they are harvested.
The day before delivery you’ll get a text message reminder that the greens are coming.
The day of delivery, you’ll get a text notification when the driver is going to you, and when they drop off the greens are your door.
What is Delivery like?
When we drop off the microgreens, it will be within a plant-based bag, and the greens are within a plant-based package. The packaging will hold up for some time, but if its extremely hot or cold, or within direct sunlight you should try to bring them into the fridge within an hour.
If you will be out for an extensive amount of time, we highly suggest placing a cooler for our team to put the greens into at your door to support them. Usually just an empty cooler is enough to fight the elements, but if your gone 24 hours, you might want to include something to keep the greens cold when its hot outside.
How do I keep my greens fresh?
Two important things to do:
- Keep them in the fridge
- Keep them in the air tight container we provided
Most varieties of greens will last for 2 weeks + the way we provided them. If you have an old fridge where air blows out of the back of the fridge do not place your greens by the vents. They will freeze, and get slimy. It can happen fast, they are small plants!
Can I change my Products?
Of course you can. 🏪
Nobodies in the mood to eat the same thing every day. 🥗
You can contact us at from our support page to make changes for you or if you want to do it on your own 👇

Can I pause a subscription if I am going on vacation?
Yeppers! ✈️
Most of our customers just let us know that they will be out of town on a weekend by going to our support page and asking us to skip a drop off or delay it until a future date. We just push the order back to a future week, no big deal.
You can also do so by logging into your account, and going to the subscription tab.
Special Information about the Packaging
Were big on sustainability, all of our packaging is made of plants.
The clear containers that look like plastic, is actually corn 🌽
The bags we provide are made of sugarcane 🍦
What that means, is that you can feel guilt free throwing those in the garbage.
Please don’t eat them we don’t know what happens 😅
Hope you enjoy the greens! 🥰
